Did this one for Tiai-el
(who graciously gave me the photo to use
) about a year ago and completely forgot to upload it until now
It started with sniffles and a fever, but when her nose started turning black it was pretty obvious what was happening. The doctors told her the prognosis was exactly the same as the other 10% of the population with this reaction to the bacterium - she'd be a dog for sure within a month's time and there was nothing she could do about it.
The changes came in slowly but strongly over the next few weeks, waking up every day with her snout a little further away from her head and her hands a little more stiff and clawed. Deciding to enjoy her last days as a human in peace, she booked a one-way plane ticket to one of the "doggy resorts" that had opened up around the world since the first transformations started. Among her own kind, nobody ridiculed her and she got to play with the other future-dogs, each of them stretching out the new instincts which were blossoming day by day.
As time went on she grew to accept her fate as a blessing in disguise - truly, she had never been happier.
